We've had them for over 4 years and I guess it finally had enough. I recently had to get another one. The Amazon deal made it an easy decision to get it. My daughter's both love there cd players. One is red and one is silver. CDs would play on one of them but not the other.
Basically, you get what you pay for. However, they are enjoying the c.d. I tried to explain it's only interference, but they pretty much don't like using the radio now. The red color is nice -lol. This was purchased for a little kid so I didn't expect much for the price and that's exactly what I got. The radio seems to pick up any and all interference and when it does it's a loud noise that actually scares the kids, makes 'em jump. for the most part.I hope that part holds up, so far so good.
Would not recommend to anyone. The radio part works. I know this was not the top of the line radio, but I only needed it to play children's cds for my infant son. The cd player part is broken it will not play cds. However, that is not why I purchased the radio.
Sometimes it stops doing this after a few minutes, sometimes it doesn't. Well, I went ahead and bought one anyway, and I'm sorry I did. My son can't listen to his music as he goes to sleep because of this. It was exactly what I was looking for. Though very cute, the Coby CD player we purchased truly is a piece of junk. Ours not only hums, but it makes popping and crackling noises, too.
We don't use it much and will be looking for another better quality player. I was thrilled to find this cute little red CD player for my 3 yr old son. I read the reviews and just had a feeling I should keep searching when I read the comments about the "humming" problem some were having. Very annoying.
I would not recommend it for many other uses. The second one we were sent came immediately and works just fine. I bought this to put in my 1-year-old daughter's room because it is small and the color matched. The first one we received had to be sent back because the CD player didn't work. This is a great product if you just want to play children's music in a child's room.
